Coming someday again- Poet and Author Kevin Young - Author of "The Hungry Ear."
Marq

What the Folk?! began on WRFG in the late 1970's. And now it's back with topical music that is not afraid to look at politics and controversy as well as folk traditions from the USA and around the world. Guests in the past years include The Honorable Congressman John Lewis of music from the Civil rights movement, attorney Andrew Sheldon, who was on the team that successfully re-prosecuted the civil rights murderers who got away with their crimes in the 1960s. Kevin Young, author and poet, read from his book, The Gray Album and commented on the blues. Harrison Kohler, combat veteran and author was a guest for a program that focused on the events and music from the Viet Nam war. Psychologist Betsy Gard has been a guest for the "Mindful Moment" for two shows. One was on disasters and serial murderers. Most recently, she gave commentary about how to deal with heartache from a broken heart with music that was also heartfelt.

Future shows planned will have themes around friendship, ecology, food, movies, poetry and war.

Frequent guests include Andy Sheldon, Jane, Sarah, and others. Please listen and subscribe!
