For three decades plus, WRFG Atlanta 89.3 FM has brought the
finest Celtic music to lucky metro area listeners. Dublin native
John C. Falstaff has hosted the Celtic Show since 1995 (with
some time off in the period 2002 to 2005). In recent years,
Jenny Hubbard Young from Wales has been co-hosting from
time to time, as has Dave Aton. Pevious host Siusaidh Ruadh
has been known to sit in now and then also!
If you're a fan of harp, accordion, pipes, whistles, fiddles or
flutes, or beautiful haunting singing, then please tune in (on
the web or on the radio) each week to hear an ever-changing mix of
classic and modern tunes and songs from the original seven Celtic
nations. Music with roots in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany,
Cornwall, the Isle of Man, and Galicia is also aired.
Sometimes, Scottish storyteller Kathleen Mainland reads at 6pm
on the first Sunday of the month.
Over the years, many great names in Celtic music have been on
the show, from Chieftains, Susan McKeown, and Riverdance's
Bill Whelan, to Scottish singer Andy M. Stewart, Battlefield
Band and Welsh bard Dafydd Iwan.
We also try to keep listeners informed about worthy Celtic events
in the area.
