Radio Free Georgia Broadcasting Foundation, Inc. d/b/a WRFG 89.3 FM is a 501 (c) 3 organization which has been operating as a listener supported, community radio, station delivering progressive information and global entertainment to Metropolitan Atlanta's diverse radio listening audiences for over 30 years. The Foundations mission is to uplift human dignity and give people more control over their lives by drawing together members who strive to (1) provide a broadcast medium for those communities who have been traditionally denied access to electronic media, and (2) to popularize and preserve indigenous forms of cultural expression not typically broadcast by commercial media entities. WRFG values the role we play as a public affairs programming station helping to develop the vision of Atlanta's urban community by engaging local residents in cross cultural dialogs. We actively seek the support of residents, small businesses and local corporate partners such as you to support the delivery of our programming and community out reach efforts.

As a noncommercial, educational, community radio station, WRFG receives the bulk of its operating revenue from sponsorship of programs, special events and listener support. Becoming a member of WRFG will enable you to participate as a contributing sponsor of one of oldest alternative media resources in the city of Atlanta. The wonderful thing about our programming is that all programs are formatted to include a public affairs component. The stations format was specifically designed to deliver social, political and cultural dialogs not typically voiced on mainstream media entities. WRFG producers integrate public affairs information segments with various musical genre preferences from smooth jazz to ruff, rugged and raw hip hop, from blue grass to the popular sounds of the Caribbean: socca, reggae and calypso as well as offering traditional east Indian, Celtic and African music. This unique formatting is designed to target Atlanta's socially progressive residents as well as provide an outlet for Atlanta's cultural and civic organizations.

WRFG currently serves a diverse population of loyal listeners comprised of community residents, small business owners and independent artist from through out Metropolitan Atlanta. We deliver a broad diversity of multicultural public affairs and music programs 24 hours a day 7 days a week from a 100,000-watt signal. Opportunities for volunteer participation in the development and delivery of our community-focused programs are made available to the graduates of our biannual broadcast training class, and other specifically designed activities. The station also sponsors a diverse selection of festivals, concerts, public affairs forums, and special events that are designed to be both culturally informative and entertaining. We broadcast our signal to listeners throughout the diverse counties in Georgia, which include Bartow, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton, Paulding, Rockdale and Walton.

As WRFG enhances our programming format, increases our community out reach activities, purchases much needed, modern studio and production equipment we are seeking the support of the residents such as you to unite with us as we strengthen our capacity to serve this community.
