32nd ANNUAL WRFG
PEACHBLOSSOM BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL

ATLANTA...WRFG-Atlanta (89.3 FM) is pleased to announce the 32nd Annual Peachblossom Bluegrass Festival will take place on Saturday April 5, 2008 in the Exhibition Hall at the Georgia State Farmer’s Market in Forest Park. The festival will run from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM.  Tickets for the event are $10 for WRFG members, $12 advance general admission, $15.00 general admission at the door, $6.00 students age 6 and older, and as always, children under age six will be admitted free of charge.

Just as in years past, we have chosen some of the finest bluegrass bands performing today.   Headlining the festival this year will be Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain. With their first CD debuting at #11 on the Billboard Top Bluegrass charts, and still staying in the top ten on the Bluegrass Unlimited charts, the band is one of the most requested groups in acoustic music. Together with Carrie’s beautifully pure voice, and the exceptional talent of this young band, they are creating quite the buzz in the Bluegrass, Americana, and country music markets.  Many believe Carrie is quickly becoming the next “Outstanding Female Bluegrass vocalist”, following the likes of Alison Krauss and Rhonda Vincent.

WRFG will also present an array of equally talented local and regional bluegrass bands.  We will feature The Larios Brothers, The Nashvillian Family Band, The Jot’em Down Boys, Whoa Nelly, Tucker Station String Band, 4 Ever Blue, Well Strung, Southern Heart, Johnny Roquemore & The Apostles of Bluegrass, DejaBlue Grass Band, and Cedar Hill.  The festival will end with the traditional All Star Jam.

The 32nd Annual WRFG Peachblossom Bluegrass Festival is a family friendly event held inside the Exhibition Hall, but you can expect plenty of “parking lot picking”.  Come out and enjoy great music, food, and craft vendors as well as a lot of fun and fellowship, while helping Atlanta’s only non-profit Community Radio Station.

All proceeds from this event go to help cover operating costs for WRFG, Radio Free Georgia, 89.3 FM.  For tickets and further information on the 32nd Annual WRFG Peachblossom Bluegrass Festival Festival, call WRFG at 404-523-3471 or visit the website at www.wrfg.org
