Do you like classic and underrepresented films? Do you like films about radical politics? Join Resistance Cinema for an screening of a radical film followed by a group discussion!
Since June of 2024, Resistance Cinema ATL has been screening films, helping to educate attendees on cinema and global struggles around the globe, while collaborating with local organizations to further the solidarity that these films inspire.
Each month, we meet in WRFG’s Harlon Joye Community Room, also known as the SOAPBOX Gallery, at the Little Five Points Community Center. The Community Center is located at 1083 Austin Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307.
While most months screenings take place on the last Sunday of every month with the screening beginning at 6:30 pm, there are often additional screenings that occur. And then sometimes the last Sunday events are moved. So, it’s important to check in to find out what the upcoming screenings will be.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION
Masks are required and provided. The room also has an air purifier.
We will have water and folks are encouraged to beings snacks to share if they would like. We will ask that people go out into the hallway or outside the room before removing their mask to eat or drink. Eating and drinking inside the room will not be allowed, so that there remains a designated safe space that is strictly mask required.
Please arrive early if you would like to enjoy refreshments before the screenings begin at 6:30PM. Doors open at 6PM.
The films may not always be in English, but include subtitles.
There are designated Accessibility Parking Spots at the Community Center in the back gravel parking lot behind the building (entrance on Euclid). The entrance to the building is the bright blue door under the metal canopy near the railing. The door does not open automatically, so please DM us on Instagram or email us if you think you may need assistance with the doors, and we can have someone meet you.
Once inside, immediately to the right is an elevator. Press “2” to reach the floor where Room 105 is located. There are two more non-automatic doors to get the Harlon Joye Community Room. The restroom is also on this floor, but the toilet is not wheelchair accessible. There are wheelchair accessible toilets on the first floor. Because the building is over 100 years old, there are A/C window units when its hot and radiators when its cold.
