Every Thursday night since the almost forgotten year of 1983, Dave Chamberlain has toted his rumpled canvas bag filled with scuffed vinyl LPs to WRFG for “Sagebrush Boogie”, an extravaganza of Western Swing, Hawaiian tunes, Country music, Rockabilly and even liberal dousings of Yodeling!
“Sagebrush Boogie” has promoted live studio performance and interviews for decades ,and performers on the show have included Delta Moon, Col. Bruce Hampton, Tom Gray, Kris Dale & His Lava Tones, Wayne Hancock, Bucky Pizzarelli, and one of the world’s greatest guitar players, Mr. Thumbs Carllile.
On the side, Dave is a guitar enthusiast and he plays solo “chord melody” style on his vintage guitars and also performs in a jazz duo called “Bright Moments” with his singing and clarinet playing wife, Kim. In addition, Dave is a visual artist and photographer who creates often surrealistic images from his imagination. You can follow Dave on Instagram as Theeldritchpen and of course, call the Sagebrush Bunkhouse of the Air and say howdy at (404) 523-8989 on Thursday nights 8-10 PM.
Happy Trails To You!!
