Youth Speak Truth – Archive Index
Youth Speak Truth Radio was founded in 2005 by Jamarah Amani and Emery Wright, and became a Project South program in 2008. Over the years, the show has gone through many eras, shifts, and transformations, but its purpose has remained constant: to serve as a public affairs program centering the voices and experiences of high school and college-age youth. It continues to reflect the work of our youth leadership development programs and the broader youth organizing and movement-building efforts in the South Atlanta community.
Nautica Jenkins
My name is Nautica Jenkins. I’m 28 years old and was born and raised in Atlanta. I first joined Youth Speak Truth (YST) when I was 16, at a time when I was just beginning to find my voice through local youth organizing in the South Atlanta community. Since then, I’ve grown into a youth advocate, supporting young people in my community through leadership development programs like the Septima Clark Community Power Institute at Project South.
