Soul Rhapsody: Good Foot Tuesday

Host(s): Rodney Gibbs

Here’s alt text for the image: Retro-style poster with bold, wavy yellow text reading “Good Foot Tuesday” on a maroon background with radiating orange, red, blue, and purple shapes. Smaller text below says, “Playing the music that got you in trouble!” in cream and light blue. At the bottom, it lists “10AM–Noon ET,” “wrfg.org,” and “89.3 FM Atlanta.” The design has a 1970s vibe with playful colors and typography.

Description

Check out my recent playlists.

Good Foot Tuesday is a feel-good blend of soul, R&B, and funk, leaning heavily on the ‘60s to ‘80s. Rodney mixes the songs that got you in trouble with rarities, surprises, and a few modern cuts. He often slips in funky covers that turn the original songs inside out.

Rodney also hosts the freeform program Plain Ol’ Horizons on the second Sunday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET, and My Own House, an Americana show, on the fourth Sunday of each month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET.

Have songs you think would work well on Soul Rhapsody or one of Rodney’s other programs? Email Rodney at rodney@wrfg.org or mail submissions to WRFG, Attn: Rodney Gibbs, 1083 Austin Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30307.
