Launched 40 years, the African Experience Worldwide was created to highlight the richness and diversity of African music and culture for the WRFG community. Each week, we travel to a different African country—exploring its history, traditions, and people through music. From Afrobeat and highlife to house, hip hop, and soul, the program blends timeless classics with contemporary sounds, offering both rhythm and context. More than just a music program, it’s a cultural journey—designed to connect listeners to Africa’s stories, voices, and creative spirit while celebrating the continent’s ongoing influence on global music.

I’m Archy “DJ Arc” Ntabona, an engineering manager by profession and a passionate DJ and content creator. Music has always been a bridge for me—connecting cultures, people, and stories. On-air, I aim to create experiences that are not only entertaining but also educational and culturally grounding.

Mfon Ufot, affectionately known as Mama Mfon, is a veteran radio personality with over 30 years of broadcasting experience. Beyond the airwaves, she has raised more than $10 million for companies and nonprofits, and through her leadership with ASIKE, she has provided scholarships for underprivileged African children from elementary through high school. Her voice and work continue to inspire, uplift, and open doors for the next generation.

Erica is a fresh new voice on WRFG, but her connection to the station runs deep—she’s been a longtime listener inspired by her grandfather’s footsteps in radio. Motivated by her love of African music, she chose The African Experience Worldwide as her home, where she shares the rhythms and stories that first captured her heart. With dreams of one day traveling to Ivory Coast and exploring the continent more deeply, Erica is excited to grow her knowledge and bring listeners along on the journey.
