Southern Flavor airs Wednesdays from 8pm to 10pm, alternating every other week with Happygrass. Southern Flavor features bluegrass, old-time, and progressive string band music — music that originated in the hills and the hollers of Appalachia and ripples across the American musical landscape.

Billy hosts “Southern Flavor” the 1st Tuesday of every month from 8-10 pm as well as “My Own House” the 2nd Sunday of every month from 9-11 am.  When he was living in the mountains of Western North Carolina in the early 90’s, Billy got bit by the bluegrass bug and he hasn’t been the same since.  He’s been an airshifter at WRFG since the Spring of 2024 and previously hosted shows on radio stations in Central Kentucky and Southwestern Virginia.  When he’s not listening to music or picking at a local jam, he’s dreaming about bluegrass.
